Today Starbucks invited over a hundred HeadStart volunteers to spend a day connecting with Starbucks employees, sharing stories, learning about different business functions and practicing their interview and self-presentation skills. The day formed part of the company's Global Month of Service, which sees thousands of Starbucks staff across the world give up their time to benefit local communities.
The event gave young people a unique insight into the inner workings of an exciting global brand. It also gave Starbucks employees a chance to use their skills, expertise and experience to benefit young people from across London.
Highlights from the day included introductions to all key deparments from finance to store design, having the chance to design a Starbucks drink, speed networking with people across the business and getting to ‘meet the bosses’ with open questions to Mark Fox, UK CEO and the senior leadership team.
